About
Us:
Bay State Racing
started about 9 years ago, although the official name and logo came about in
2001. The team is made up of friends and family that had a common interest in
the sport of motorcycle pulling. It all started with one bike competing and
you'll see pictures on the other pages, (the orange trike). This trike was built
at JR Wheelers Motorcycles by the Thirsty Thursday Crew.
Steve Wheeler started racing a few events for the first year and did pretty well. The next year he wanted to become more competitive and built another bike, that's the black trike you'll see, known as "Thrasher". This trike was built from the ground up to do one thing, pull a sled!! He know has a solo puller that is becoming very competitive in it's class.
Davey Heighes decided to take over as rider of the orange trike, known as "Thirsty. This trike has been through many changes (including color) and is a proven machine!!
In 2001 David Wheeler decided to get involved. Again the Thirsty Thursday Crew came to the call and built a trike for him, known as "The Green Thing".
In the last event of 2001, Kathy Bonnell decided to give it a try. Her bike is now known as "Cybil". -- Kathy & Tom Bonnell are still associated with Bay State but have branched off starting in 2005 to form another team called: Misfit Racing..
